What I'm doing now
A snapshot of my current focus. Last updated 2026-05-05.
At work
Candidate Researcher at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM since August 2025. Day-to-day: Java + Spring Boot services on PostgreSQL, with Apache Solr for retrieval and Hazelcast for distributed caching. Reading a lot about consistent hashing, near-cache invalidation, and Fluent Bit → Loki ingest tuning.
School
Final-year (4th-year) Computer Engineering at Marmara University. Graduating June 2026. Currently wrapping up the senior engineering project — the FIVUCSAS biometric platform — and preparing a security review for it.
Side projects
- FIVUCSAS — pushing toward a third-party security review; Fernet-encrypted embeddings, WebAuthn passkeys, pgBackRest WAL archiving for PITR.
- Sarnıç — multi-tenant school scheduler with Timefold solver, replacing a 24-sheet macro Excel for a real exam-prep school in İstanbul.
- Mizan — hybrid Quranic search engine, 172 tests passing, Tanzil-verified Abjad totals.
- Share Agent — Sharia-compliance-aware BIST trading platform; hexagonal architecture; running on a Hetzner CX43 box behind Traefik.
Reading and learning
- HackerRank — sharpening problem-solving and algorithm skills daily.
- "Clean Code" by Robert C. Martin — already read; principles applied as a default.
- Hazelcast Partitioning + Near-Cache deep-dives.
- WebAuthn / FIDO2 ceremony specs (the user-verification flag transitions).
